Lucy Hives

Senior Research Assistant

Profile

Lucy is a Senior Research Assistant in the Research Facilitation and Delivery Unit at the University of Central Lancashire. She has a special interest in wellness, improving health and wellbeing, health screening and assessment, and illness prevention.  

Lucy has a degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Health Psychology. She begun working at the University of Central Lancashire in 2015 as a researcher in the Allied Health Research Unit and later in the School of Dentistry.  

Lucy now has a dual role at the University. As part of the Research Facilitation and Delivery Unit, Lucy has worked on many different health-related research projects, including psychosocial care in major trauma, the health and wellbeing harms of interpersonal violence, and the screening and assessment of dysphagia. She also works as a Research Associate in the School of Community Health and Midwifery on the NIHR-funded ABA-Feed study, a multicentre randomised controlled trial evaluating a new method of infant feeding support. Additionally, she is Deputy Vice-Chair of the Health Ethics Review Panel. 

Lucy is a member of the Steering Group and Project Management Group, acting as the Research Associate on the project. Lucy contributes to all aspects of the study delivery.
